Bitcoin Cash Price Surges 30% as CME Futures Spark Breakout — Can BCH Hold $350?
  • BCH jumped nearly 30% in 24 hours, moving from about $270 to above $340 after CME Group announced planned Bitcoin Cash futures.

  • CME expects to launch standard and Micro BCH futures on October 19, pending regulatory review, opening another regulated derivatives channel for the token.

  • BCH has broken a months-long descending trendline and reclaimed $300–$310, putting the $430–$450 region next target.

Bitcoin Cash has suddenly become one of the biggest movers in the crypto market. BCH climbed from roughly $270 to above $350 after CME Group announced plans to launch regulated Bitcoin Cash futures, pushing the token through a descending trendline that had capped rallies for months. Trading volume also surged sharply as BCH reclaimed the $340 level. The move has turned a long-running consolidation into a potential trend reversal, with traders now watching whether BCH can establish $350 as support and extend the breakout.

CME Opens a New Derivatives Door for BCH

CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Cash futures on October 19, subject to regulatory review. The exchange will offer standard contracts representing 250 BCH alongside Micro contracts covering 25 BCH.

The announcement immediately changed BCH’s market structure. The token rose from around $270 to $328 within roughly 90 minutes before extending gains toward $340. By September 23, BCH had reached around $347–$355, with 24-hour gains approaching 30%.

CME already handles substantial crypto derivatives activity. Its cryptocurrency futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts per day worth $8.3 billion in notional value during the first half of 2026, while average open interest stood at $15.4 billion.

The BCH listing gives professional traders a regulated instrument for hedging and directional exposure without requiring direct spot ownership.

BCH Breaks a Downtrend That Held Through 2026: Can It Reach $400?

BCH spent much of the summer consolidating between roughly $240 and $270, with buyers repeatedly defending the lower range while rallies failed beneath the falling trendline. The CME announcement supplied the catalyst for a decisive move through both structures.

BCH is trading around $350–$355, after clearing the descending trendline and the $300–$310 resistance zone. The next major resistance visible on the daily chart sits around $430–$450, where BCH previously spent months consolidating before the larger breakdown.

A sustained move above $350 would keep the breakout structure intact and bring $430–$450 into focus. Clearing that region would expose the much larger $680–$720 resistance band near the previous cycle highs.

The first major support is now $300–$310. A successful retest would turn the former ceiling into a potential demand zone. A daily move back below $300 would weaken the breakout and shift attention toward the $240–$260 consolidation area.

Why the BCH Rally Could Have More Room

The CME announcement changes the market-access profile for Bitcoin Cash. Standard and Micro contracts give professional participants different position sizes within a regulated derivatives venue, while the broader CME crypto complex provides an established framework for price discovery and risk management.

The market response also arrived with unusually strong spot participation. BCH trading volume reached roughly $1.36 billion during the latest surge, while spot trading accounted for more than $111 million in the cited market snapshot.

A regulated futures launch does not guarantee sustained spot demand. BCH must retain the breakout after the initial catalyst fades.

For now, $350 is the line between a CME-fueled spike and a potentially larger Bitcoin Cash breakout.
